Stage set for model UN talks

Secondary school students from the UAE and countries around the world will grab the spotlight for three days, debating issues facing the global community at the second Annual Model United Nations conference from February 18 at the Dubai International Academy.

The Model United Nations programme is part of the extra-curricular activities of many high schools, colleges and universities around the world and broadens students' horizons and provides them with an opportunity to interact with students from different countries and cultures.

In a Model UN Conference, students learn vital skills in research, writing, speaking, consensus building and conflict resolution as they step into the role of delegates for the countries they represent.

The primary aim of DIAMUN is to provide students with a forum to discuss global concerns in a context that closely parallels the real world.
