Symposium to build young leaders

Graduates of Dubai Leaders Programme, an initiative launched by Dubai World aimed at building a cadre of leaders, recently held a symposium "Overcoming the Crisis and Dubai World Young Leaders' Role".

Jamal Majid bin Thaniah, Executive Vice-Chairman, DP World and Group CEO Ports and Free Zone World, said: "I cannot stress enough the need for talented young leaders to be well-equipped to face modern-day business challenges, and the necessity of enhancing the capabilities of these leaders through long-term training programmes based on innovative development tools," said Thaniah.

Dr Kamal A El Wassal, Director, Division of Economic and Fiscal Research, Department of Finance, Government of Dubai, said: Dubai's 2009 budget was formulated to reflect efforts by the government to increase the gross domestic product and sustain the momentum of economic growth."
