dubai Dubai Criminal Court yesterday postponed to November 22 the hearing in a case in which a Nepalese driver is accused of stealing a mobile phone of a passenger. Yesterday's was the first session.

The court asked the defendant about the charges and he confessed, asking for clemency.

The case dates to August 7, when Sultan Rashid Al Naqbi took a taxi from Dubai International Airport. He got off the taxi outside Bin Sougat Centre. He then discovered he had forgotten his mobile phone on the seat. Naqbi tried to call on his number but there was no reply.

The defendant said he found the mobile, took out the battery and hid the phone in a construction site in Qusais.
