His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has unveiled the second part of the Federal Government Strategy 2011-2013.

The details were revealed during a workshop organised by the government's working group at the Mina Salaam Hotel in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed listened to a presentation outlining the vision and strategy, which is based on a number of general principles, priorities and strategic initiatives for the country. Among the key features of the new strategy are commitments to providing citizens with the highest standards of living and prosperity, through improving the country's education and healthcare systems.

As part of efforts to promote the UAE's international standing, the government also plans to focus on social development and the enhancement of government services. More details of the new strategy are available in Arabic and English at www.vision2021.ae, a website launched by Sheikh Mohammed to publicise the government's plans.

In remarks given after the presentation, Sheikh Mohammed described the strategy launch as the first step in a long journey filled with challenges. After calling on citizens to face the future with strong determination, he said the UAE's leadership is united in its vision, ambition and aspirations, and that it places the development of the country's people at the centre of all its plans.

Present at the workshop were Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Executive Director of the Prime Minister's Office Ohoud Al Roumi and more than 180 young government leaders.
