Woman sent to prison forsix months

A woman has been jailed for six months to be followed by deportation for prostitution.

The public prosecution relied on the testimony of policeman Nasser Hassan to bring the charge against Asian MJ, 24, a visitor.

He said he saw a man, who was smelling of alcohol, leading the defendant along the street by her hand.

When the policeman asked the man where he was going with the accused, the man said he had given the woman Dh300 and had reserved a hotel room.

In another case, Asian HK, 23, a Flora Park Hotel employees, was jailed for three months for stealing Dh1,000 from a guest. CCTV showed HK receiving Dh5,000 and not Dh4,000, as he had said.
