UAE cricket squad pulls out of Sri Lanka tour

The UAE cricket squad has pulled out of its tour of Sri Lanka following this week’s attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, Pakistan, according to media reports.

The UAE had planned to face some of Sri Lanka’s top sides in warm-up games before next month’s World Cup qualifying tournament in South Africa.

They were expected to depart today.

However, as the side comprises several Pakistani nationals, who could have been targets of revenge attacks, the Emirates Cricket Board decided to postpone the trip.
