The temperature in Dubai is expected to drop on Saturday night to approximately 19 degrees Celsius as slight Shamal (northwesterly) winds blow across the emirate, according to the Meteorological Office.

Earlier, it was reported that a sandstorm will hit the UAE, making driving conditions hazardous over the weekend.

Sulaiman Mohammed, Met Office duty forecaster, told Emirates Business that the sandstorm is anticipated to affect Abu Dhabi, but not Dubai.

“We can expect a mild Shamal in Dubai, causing offshore winds to blow between 10 and 15 knots, which is normal. It will gradually increase to 15-20 knots tomorrow (Sunday),” he said.

The weather on Sunday, however, will remain settled except for a brief humid spell around dawn.

Over the next four days, Dubai residents will experience sunny and breezy weather conditions with slight haze. The highest temperature today is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius.
