Sheikh Mayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the offices of Arab Media Group (AMG) across Dubai to learn more about the company’s operations.
He used the visit to launch a multi-media award in a bid to encourage more UAE nationals to enter the broadcast and print media.
The son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai heard about significant recent developments in AMG’s interests in radio broadcasting, newspaper publishing and ground-breaking satellite television channels. The company publishes Emirates Business.
Sheikh Mayed praised the company’s team spirit, saying: “We are pleased with the progress achieved by the group’s projects, which is in line with the growth and development of the country’s economy.”
AMG Chief Executive Abdullatif Al Sayegh thanked Sheikh Mayed for the visit on behalf of the group’s employees. He said the visit reflects Sheikh Mayed’s keenness to support the media in the UAE.
Young people – both male and female – will compete for the award by demonstrating their radio, TV and journalistic talent. The contest will be run through Emirates Business’ sister paper, Emarat Al Youm, on Khaleeji Radio and shooftv.com for three months. Details will be announced soon.
