UAE and Saudi settle cargo issues

Cargo held at a Saudi port has been released after a dispute over certificates of origin from Dubai was resolved.

Hamad Buamim, Director-General, Dubai Chamber, and Mohammed Khalifah bin Fahad Al Muhairi, Director-General of the UAE Federal Customs Authority met Saleh bin Manee’ Al Khilewi, Director-General of the Saudi Customs Department in Riyadh to discuss the problem.

Earlier, Saudi Customs authorities refused to accept certificates of origin issued by Dubai Chamber. saying the certificate did not contain a stamp from Dubai Chamber, which resulted in cargo detention.
