Australian players involved in the Indian Premier League will have a security briefing with Australian Cricketers’ Association chief executive Paul Marsh on Tuesday.

The security situation in India has worsened this month with a terrorist attack in Pune killing nine people and an Al Qaeda-linked group purportedly issuing a threat over the World Cup hockey tournament, the IPL and Commonwealth Games.

Fast bowler Shaun Tait said he hoped to be better informed about the situation in India.

Tait is contracted to play for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Twenty20 tournament from March 12 to April 25.
