Japan coach Takeshi Okada is keen to subject his defenders to Chelsea striker Didier Drogba's brute power by setting up a World Cup warm-up with Ivory Coast, local media reported.

"We want to play an African team before the World Cup starts," Okada was quoted as saying.

Okada wants his defenders to be ready when Inter Milan forward Samuel Eto'o comes calling in Japan's opening Group E game against Cameroon on June 14.

Japan is also planning a tune-up against England in Austria on May 30.
