Gebrselassie wins third Great Manchester Run

Ethiopian legend Haile Gebrselassie won his third Great Manchester Run yesterday with an electrifying final burst at the finish.

The 37-year-old two-time Olympic winner finished just over a minute behind the world record over the 10km course.

Gebrselassie's compatriot Werknesh Kidane, world silver medalist in the 10,000 metres at the 2003 outdoor championships, won the women's race.
