Exorcism causes death of 4-year-old ‘demon’ child

Tragedy struck in eastern Russia when Shaman performing an exorcism allegedly suffocated the four-year-old boy they were trying to save.

Dmitry Kazachuk, who apparently was suffering from pneumonia, was left alone with the ritual healers by his parents.

Before leaving, Dmitry’s mother observed the woman performing the ritual who insisted her son’s name was “Lucifer the Demon.”

According to a Reuters report, traditional shaman healers, who have practiced in some areas of Siberia and the eastern provinces for thousands of years, have experienced a revival since the 1991 break-up of the Soviet Union ended repression by the Communist authorities.
