Iranian artist Nargess Hashemi reproduces scenes from traditional family gatherings: Drawings of weddings laid over wrapping paper, exaggerating the sentimentalism of the occasion; all the while her family remain oblivious to the chaos tearing through the streets of Tehran.

Sacred Sites of India

The Empty Quarter Fine Art Photography Gallery, Dubai

This exhibition, which runs until February 5, features a wonderful collection of rare vintage and contemporary photographic prints of India. It focuses on a varied group of images from the late 19th century with an overview of Calcutta by Bourne & Shepherd, as well as images from Falkland Road, Henri Cartier Bresson, Mary Ellen Mark and Mark Riboud.

The Human Race

The Mojo Gallery, Dubai
