Organisers of the 20th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) have unveiled plans to bring children's books closer to the community this year with a six new children's libraries to open this year. One will open in the Abu Dhabi Mall, while five mobile libraries will tour the Emirate.

According to Jumaa Al Qubaisi, Director of the event, Abu Dhabi is well positioned to fill a gap in the children's book market in the Middle East.

"For parents, school teachers, retailers and publishers with a passion for children's books, Abu Dhabi is the place to be in 2010," he said. The focus on young talent at the event includes the presence of upcoming authors from around the world, the finale of the Read Aloud schools competition, and the announcements of the shortlist for the 2010 International Prize for Arabic Fiction and the winners of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.

The event runs from March 2 to 7. It is organised by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and Kitab.
