Lindsay’s new rep quits hours before jailtime

Drama and Lindsay Lohan seem to go hand-in-hand these days. The actress, who is mere hours away from facing time behind bars may have no legal representative to help her in this time of need.

According to latest reports, her new lawyer Robert Shapiro – the very same who represented disgraced footballer OJ Simpson – has told the judge in her case that he’s quit. No reason was forthcoming at the time.

This is Loco Lohan’s second legal representative who’s bailed on her in the past week. Tmz.com broke the news, which was reconfirmed by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton on Twitter.com, saying: “One of Shapiro’s conditions to represent Lohan was that she comply with court orders – and his. One can only assume!”

However, one hour after Hilton dropped the bombshell, Lohan also logged on, only to tweet about her forthcoming jail time, saying: “The only ‘bookings’ that I’m familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that I’d be ‘booking’ into Jail... eeeks.”

According to TMZ, Lohan’s former lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley never signed the substitution of attorney form last Friday to get out of the case. So Holley still may be on the hook.

Topless cavorting

The 24-year-old star of films such as Parent Trap and Mean Girls spent the weekend topless, at a photo shoot for the German GQ magazine.

Lohan is due to be locked up for 90 days for parole violations in her 2007 drunk driving conviction, after the judge issued the sentence on July 6. While she broke down in tears when the judge ordered her placed behind bars, it is unlikely she will serve out her full sentence in a Los Angeles detention facility due to her nonviolent crime and similar preceding cases of Hollywood stars who served a mere fraction of their time.

The former Disney star broke the terms of her parole for missing seven classes of a 90-day, in-patient substance abuse programme judge Marsha Revel had ordered her to attend.

'Fidgety mess'

But contrary to the her Twitter messages, the pop tart is a "fidgety mess," People magazine reported, quoting anonymous sources. "She is a nervous, fidgety mess, and her legal team, family and friends are very concerned about her fragile state," the source said.

Lohan for the past few days has been staying at the Pickford Lofts rehabilitation centre. "It's been a rough weekend," said the quoted source. "She has not been able to sleep and has barely been eating. All weekend, Lindsay kept crying, chain-smoking and chewing her nails."

History of arrests

Lohan was arrested for driving under the influence three years ago. After a stay in rehab, she was caught two months later for drunk driving and cocaine possession. She served a mere 84 minutes in jail.

In May 2007, the actress was in a Mercedes-Benz that crashed into a hedge on Sunset Boulevard near the Beverly Hills Hotel, and two months later she was arrested in Santa Monica on suspicion of drunken driving.

Tabloids have covered Lohan's hard-partying lifestyle, her busy social life dating men and women, her run-ins with the law, and now her latest move: to a correctional facility.Once a promising young A-list actress whose career since has spun off course, Lohan has been known to audiences for years.

Her latest movie, the action thriller Machete featuring Robert De Niro and Danny Trejo, is scheduled for release in September.Lohan is currently working on a film about porn star Linda Lovelace.
