The third annual Reaching U Family Fun Day for children with special needs will take place on March 20 at Jumeirah Beach Park.

The event will be held under the patronage of Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The day will provide a chance for children to interact with children with special needs. The activities will run from 2pm to 6pm and will include bouncy castles, obstacle courses, drumming, an art attraction and puppet shows.

"Even with an economic downturn people feel a deep need to get involved in worthwhile causes," said Nick Watson, Founder of U-Concept and the Reaching U initiative. "The fun day is a very special event that puts the focus firmly on children with special needs.

"In Dubai alone there are more than 6,000 children with special needs, but caring for them is not always at the forefront of people's minds. Events like Reaching U help to bring all of

us together.

"It is my belief that every individual has the right to receive the necessary support needed to live as a member of the community and benefit from social relationships. The fun day is a perfect way to achieve this and promises to be fun for all children."
