SportAccord Dubai to be held from April 25 to 30
The SportAccord Dubai 2010 International Convention, a prominent networking event for the international sports world, will take place from April 25 to 30 at The Atlantis Hotel, Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai.
This represents the first time ever that a sporting event of this magnitude will be held in the Middle East. Leading the host of the event is the Dubai Sports Council. With 1,500 delegates expected from more than 100 global sports federations and organisations, the SportAccord Dubai 2010 International Convention is being billed as the biggest international sports-networking event in the world.
It not only attracts participants from the sporting community, but high-profile politicians, decision-makers, economists, architects, lawyers and businessmen from across the globe. In keeping with Dubai's identity as an international sporting hub, the convention's themes are "The changing geography of international sport" and "Sport's key role in the big issues on the global agenda".
Topics set for discussion include the role of sport as an agent of social change; sport in the Middle East; sport as a leader in sustainable development; autonomy of sport; and sponsorship in sport.
