Twenty new books by Emirati authors have been published by Qalam, one of a number of initiatives set up by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach).
The initiatives are designed to enhance and encourage cultural work in the UAE within a strategic framework through which local, regional and international efforts are integrated.
The new titles – which include poetry, short stories and plays – are on display at the Qalam stand at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and the authors include some distinguished names.
It gives Emirati writers an opportunity to distribute their work worldwide. Adach plans to develop the project to include literature by Arab expats and other nationalities living in the UAE.
