Just when you thought it was safe to step out of your homes again, some more glamour names decide to swoop down on this city once again in a month that has already witnessed 55 A-listers adding their name to the Dubai red carpet spotlight.

Following in the footsteps of Selena Gomez, John Travolta, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the latest names to be added to the list are that of Ranbir Kapoor, possibly father Rishi Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Bollywood’s award-winning musician, Pritam.

Ranbir, who will be jetting into the emirate on September 18, will swap the sunny climes of his Ibiza summer holiday for some Dubai sunshine while promoting his upcoming flick, ‘Besharam’, which also stars his real-life parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.

According to sources, the yesteryear actors are trying to join his parents in Dubai for the city-wide promotions; will Ranbir’s Ibiza-hopping special friend Katrina Kaif follow? Fans can only hope, right.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Dubai Music Week has gone ahead and added some Bollywood glamour to its list of award-winning artists, Selena, Will.I.Am, Timbaland and Quincy Jones.

A special ‘Bollywood Night’ featuring the industry’s top performers – including Farhan Akhtar and Pritam – who will take to the Dubai stage on September 28 for an unforgettable musical experience.

The concert is set to excite the crowds at Dubai World Trade Centre, as the Bollywood stars perform hits from some of their most popular albums and recent movie chart-toppers.

Akhtar, who comes hot off the heels of his recent box office smash, ‘Bhaag Milka Bhaag’, will feature his leading edge rock band, Farhan Live, performing for the first time ever in Dubai in front of an expected crowd of thousands.

The band debuted during a gig in Goa earlier this year to a star-struck crowd of more than 25,000 fans.

This news couldn’t come at a more opportune time as rumour mills are abuzz that a sequel to ‘Rock On!’ has already been finalised.

“Given the remarkable popularity of Bollywood across the world, we are delighted to be hosting the industry’s top talent right here in Dubai. With a range of performers lined up, Bollywood night will mirror Dubai’s diversity by showcasing a range of music spanning rock to romance from some of the most well-recognised performers in India today,” said organiser Issam Kazim, Director, DXB Live, in a statement.

“Incorporating different genres of music and performers will help support Dubai Music Week’s mission to create an international music destination for global talent to perform, while simultaneously creating an eco-system to help local artists thrive,” commented Executive Director of G3 Taymoor Marmarchi.

Other acts set to entertain fans during Bollywood night include music director and composer, Pritam, who will be collaborating with Mohit Chauhan, Arjit Singh, Harshdeep Kaur, Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan.

Adding to the excitement, fans can likely expect performances from Pritam’s latest album release, the soundtrack of the movie ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’, which will be released a week before the concert and will see Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz in Dubai this Thursday.

Dubai Music Week is a venture between partners, Global Gumbo Group (G3) and DXB Live, in collaboration with Dubai World Trade Centre.

The event will run from September 24-29, with tickets available at Ticketmaster.ae
