Aamir Khan burns fingers, Shah Rukh Khan steers clear of 'roast'...

The AIB roast controversy refuses to die down or rather the Indian media is relentlessly trying to keep it alive - bigger the controversy, more content to fill the content space.

The show panel roasted actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Karan Johar as they sat and guffawed at all kinds of abuses being hurled at them.
Some loved it. Some lodged police cases saying it hurt Indian sentiments.

Now for some strange reason Indian media would force their mic on the superstars of Bollywood for every incident that takes place in the country.

The thinking superstar a.k.a Aamir Khan found himself in one such sticky situation.

Aamir recently said at a press conference that he found it abusive and violent. The result is that now Aamir is now being crucified.

In the press conference Khan said 'I WAS deeply affected by that (AIB Show)', 'I didn't find that funny'. 'I PERSONALLY have a problem with what they have done’.

He said that HE felt there was a lot of 'violence' in the event in the form of abuses – and since he is not 14-year-old anymore, HE did not find it funny.

In every statement he talks about himself and his opinion and not of his 'community' and ‘culture’ or as voice of the masses.

Yet he was roasted by one and all, including few within his industry.

Very conveniently his right to criticise the AIB show was trampled over.

Now after witnessing how Aamir has burnt his own finger, friend and colleague Shah Rukh Khan preferred to keep his opinion to himself.

Shah Rukh Khan said he would not like to take any sides on the controversy surrounding the AIB roast as he feels humour is a tricky thing and will always invoke different reactions from people.

The actor said that he believes in humour but has also become careful with his words as an entertainer.

He added that he has now curtailed his sense of humour because there is always going to be a "thin line when it comes to humour. It is always going to invoke radical reaction, either you are going to laugh at it or hate it."

However the actor was very clear about his view on the freedom of expression and stated that the power of choice always lies with the people and they can exercise what they wish to watch and what they do not. But along with this, he also stressed on how he follows certain 'control aspects' when it comes to himself.

Without taking sides SRK expressed his opinion in very refined and articulate manner - Aamir might take a note here to put forward his opinion henceforth.

Pink villa quoted him saying, "I always say that if you don't like something don't watch it. Nobody is shoving it down your throat but if you don't like something and you have watched it then live with it.”

Well played Shah Rukh.
