Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif won’t romance SRK in ‘Happy New Year’?

The search continues to find the leading lady in Farah Khan’s next movie

Looks like the search is far from over. Farah Khan is still scouting around to find the leading lady in her romantic saga that will star Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.

Although the filmmaker is quite clear that her best-bud SRK will play the male lead, she is quite unsure about who will play his lover.

While everyone from newbies Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra have been listed in the running for the lead part, there’s still no clarity on who will bag the lead role.

Every week a new name crops up. One week it was SRK’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ co-star Katrina Kaif, and another time it was touted as the “comeback” film of green-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

But, all those theories appear to be unsubstantial, after reports emerged recently over how Farah is still on the lookout for the “right face” to play SRK’s love interest.

Some Bollywood websites have even used the opportunity to flag it as an opportunity for young talents to spring into Bollywood stardom.

“So this could be your big ticket to enter the big glam world of Bollywood…just get in touch with Farah Khan!” proclaimed bollywoodlife

Farah, on her part, claims she is on the lookout for the “right face and will tell you (the media) shortly when we find her”.

Although Farah has only once signed an actor other than SRK in her movies (Akshay in ‘Tees Maar Khan’), she insists that her decision was “not because he is my close buddy, but SRK fits the role”.

Farah, who made her mark in Bollywood as a choreographer, turned director for movies like ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

Her ‘Happy New Year’ apparently centres around a bunch of male friends who are forced to take part in a dance competition. And, they have a bar dancer helping them win the dance trophy.

This film also features Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani in prominent roles, and there are reports that Southern star Prithviraj will play the third lead.

"I had an informal meeting with Farah. She told me the premise of the film she is doing. And I have not read the script yet, no concrete offer has been made to me," the actor told the Indian media.
