Aishwarya Rai's lunch with French President Hollande

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was invited at a special luncheon in New Delhi on Tuesday (January 26) with French President Francois Hollande

She exchanged pleasantries with President Hollande at a lunch which was hosted by the French ambassador to India, Francois Richier.

The actress looked radiant and ravishing in a traditional red Banarasi sari by design duo Swati and Sunaina. She rounded her look with a heavy gold necklace and matching earrings with hair tied in a low bun.

Her conversation with President Hollande ranged from talking about movies to her experiences at Cannes, a guest at the lunch told new agency Ians. The actress also joined Hollande at his table.

"Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wishes all her well wishers a very happy Republic Day," this image shared by her publicist read.

Aishwarya is a regular at the Cannes International Film Festival and has been a recipient of the prestigious 'Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters', a civilian award by the French government.

The 'Jazbaa' star is in the midst of shooting her new film 'Sarbjit' flew to Indian's capital with her daughter Aaradhya.

Hollande attended the lunch following his appearance at India's colourful Republic Day parade as the chief guest.

Other guests at the lunch included designers Ritu Beri, who has earlier received the Chevalier Des Arts et Des Lettres award, one of the highest civilian awards by the French government, for her contribution to the enrichment of Indo-French cultural relations; and Manish Arora, who shares a deep connect with Paris.

There were politicians and businessmen at the gala.
