Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is in Dubai to lead Mahindra Enforcers in the Philippines Basketball Cup 2016 as a player-coach this weekend.

Pacquiao will make his first public appearance at the Dubai Mall Wednesday.

Pacquiao is also scheduled to meet fans at the Du Shop situated in the ground floor at Dubai Mall at 4pm.

This is one of several public events lined up for eight-division world champion Pacquiao dubbed the 'Peoples Champ' - a sobriquet held by The Greatest Muhammad Ali.

However, on Tuesday the boxing icon has taken some time off and visited the highest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa.

The Filipino posted a picture from the observation deck on the 125th floor along with his wife Jinkee Pacquiao.

He wrote, "Enjoying Dubai with my wife. Burj Khalifa At the Top."

Pacquiao on his maiden visit to the UAE is accompanied by his wife and two of his five children.

The 36-year-old boxer is a player-coach for The Enforcers but won't be playing due to a shoulder injury sustained during his points defeat to Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The Mahindra Enforcers, Alaska Aces and Barangay Ginebra, considered among the best basketball teams in the Philippines, are expected to draw huge crowds of Filipino basketball enthusiasts on November 6 and 7 at Al Wasl Sports Club.

Pacquiao's has fought a record 65 fights, 57 of which have been wins including 38 knockouts.
