The 36-year-old philanthropist looked at ease as she visited vulnerable children in the Philippines as ambassador of Unicef.

Dressed down in jeans and baseball cap, Nicole warmly greeted the youngsters and couldn't hide her smile. She shared some adorable pictures on Instagram.

One picture shows her high-fiving a small boy, alongside the caption: "I'm in the #Philippines with @Unicef_UK seeing how they support vulnerable children. I'm in love with the kids I've met, so special each one of them! @Unicef_UK @unicefphils #educate #awareness #proud2bpinay."

In one image, she coos over an adorable tot up, lifting them into the air and continuing her caption by saying, 'Esp this lit' one today. Despite tough conditions these kids are so inspiring!'

Scherzinger, whose father is a Filipino, was recently in the Philippines as part of an awareness campaign led by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef).

During her visit, she and rapper apl.de.ap (Allan Pineda Lindo) went around Intramuros in Manila with celebrity tour guide Carlos Celdran.

According to 'The Voice of the Philippines' coach, Scherzinger got in touch with him while she was still in the United States, asking him to show her around in Manila.

Being of Filipino heritage herself, Nicole was interested to spend a day with the world's leading organisation - which fights for the wellbeing of children in 190 countries across the globe - as part of their Children In Danger campaign.

Many of the families Nicole met at the Baseco Compound, near the main port in Manila, would have been battling poverty, hunger, disease and the risk of violence.

She spoke to Unicef about her harrowing experience, saying: 'I'm part Filipina so I have a strong connection with the country and feel I have a responsibility to do what I can and bring awareness to the dangers that Filipino children face every day.

"It's been so humbling to meet incredible, inspiring Filipino children who are living in really tough conditions."

On the afternoon of her trip, the 36-year-old singer met children taking part in singing and dancing activities based around learning about their rights and keeping them off the streets.

The former Pussycat Dolls hitmaker, delighted fans at Manila's Chaos nightclub with a live performance during its first annual Valentine's Day Love Ball.

Sporting a bralet and distressed hotpants Nicole showed off her famously toned body as she took to the stage shortly after the doors opened for revellers at 10:00pm.
