All the drama, hysteria, over-the-top reaction and bare body show paid off for actor Guatam Gulati.
Indian television actor of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' fame Gautam Gulati has been declared as the winner of reality show 'Bigg Boss 8'.
He got the maximum number of votes defeating Karishma Tanna, who was another strong contender.
Karishma had to settle with runner up title and RJ Pritam Singh received the third highest vote.
The final three were given a chance to take Rs 25 lakh and quit the show on the grand finale night and Pritam decided to take the money.
Gautam won the 'Bigg Boss 8' trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh (INR).
Gautam, during his entire stay has gifted the audience the daily dose of entertainment- whether it was him walking bare bodied flaunting his chiseled body and six pack abs or his romantic angle with Diandra Soares. Creating history on the show, receiving the highest votes ever among all the other editions of Bigg Boss, Gautam stands as a deserving winner.
Other contestants who reached the finale were Dimpy Ganguly and Ali Quli Mirza.
The reality show took off on September 21, 2014 hosted by Salman Khan.
This year 'Bigg Boss' could not generate the exceptional craze which is the usual trademark of the show.
Viewers could easily comprehend the dramatised fights, name calling and staged theatrics of the contestants.
The manufactured romance and bed-room antics were too clichéd for the audiences who have seen all these and much more in the previous seasons.
It also lost momentum after one month extension as 'Bigg Boss Halla Bol'. It was then when Salman Khan bid adieu to the show and filmmaker Farah Khan took over the baton as host.
'Bigg Boss 8' began with 15 contestants - Gautam Gulati, Sonali Raut, Diandra Soares, Karishma Tanna, Puneet Issar, Upen Patel, Ali Quli Mirza, Soni Singh, Arya Babbar, Sushant Divgikar, Sukriti Kandpal, Praneet Bhat, Natasa Stankovic, Minissha Lamba, Deepshikha and Pritam Singh.
