Priyanka Chopra has certainly hit a high note with her singing career, with the Bollywood actress earning two nominations at the prestigious World Music Awards.
Chopra has been nominated for World’s Best Female Artist, World’s Best Song and Best Video for ‘In My City’.
Voting has opened for the nominations, but Chopra will have to put up a tough fight considering she will be competing against industry veterans such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Adele in the Best Female Artist category.
The Arab world is also giving Chopra a fight, with Elissa and Haifa Wehbe being nominated as Best Female.
Meanwhile, Chopra will also take on Psy and his breakthrough hit ‘Gangnam Style’ in the Best Song segment, along with LMFAO with their ‘Party Rock’, Madonna, One Direction and many more.
This year, the World Music Awards will be held on December 20 in Miami, Florida.
The Indian music scene is on a high this year, with the recently announced Grammy nominations also seeing classical musician Ravi Shankar bag a spot in Best World Music Album category for ‘The Living Room Sessions Part 1’, while daughter Anoushka Shankar is also a contender in the same category with ‘Traveller’.
