After Salman, now SRK to go under the knife

Bollywood’s King Khan has been going through a rough patch, much like his ‘rival’ Salman Khan. Whether it’s their dwindling friends’ circle or their deteriorating health, both the Khans are roughing it out.

Just a day after we reported on how Salman reportedly lost 10kg after a surgery for his unusual nerve disorder, we hear that Shah Rukh is also scheduled for an operation in June to treat his shoulder pain.

The operation, which will be King Khan’s eighth surgery, will be done in London.

Although SRK is suffering from intense pain, ‘Bollywood Life’ claims the decision to delay the operation was the filming schedule of ‘Chennai Express’.

They reported that SRK had earlier suffered many bone injuries – three broken ribs, a twisted ankle, a broken right toe, an injury to his left shoulder, a neck injury, a broken back bone and an injured left knee – over the years.

According to the Indian media, SRK has been complaining of a nagging shoulder pain ever since he worked on his superhero film ‘RA.One’ (2010). Although he did undergo treatment then, the pain has persisted and now requires surgery.

SRK has decided he will finish work on Rohit Shetty’s movie before going under the knife.  His IPL commitment also has delayed the medical decision.

“Rohit Shetty plans to finish the film by May-end because the makers have declared it an Eid release (on August 8). A couple of schedules are remaining, which will be wrapped up in the next one-and-a-half months,” a source of HT Café said. “Although Shah Rukh is in pain, he is continuing with work as usual because he doesn’t want to upset the schedules.”

The Bollywood website added that Khan’s spokesperson did confirm the news and informed he will go only after he finishes the shooting of the film.

It was in 2009 that SRK underwent a crucial surgery for his shoulder, which he had injured during the filming of ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’. He had continued to work on Karan Johar's ‘My Name is Khan’ in Los Angeles and went in for surgery only after the end of the shooting schedule.

At that time, he had wanted to stall the operation further because of his production ‘Billu’ but the doctors had put their foot down and forced him to get treated.
