"Yashji made films that were landmarks in cinema. Look at films like 'Deewar', 'Lamhe', 'Veer Zaara' and 'Waqt'. They are so different from each other. He loved romance and taught us to fall in love," lyricist Javed Akhtar expressing his grief.
The filmmaker who taught Bollywood to fall in love, romance in the serene valley of Kashmir, sing songs in beautiful beds of flower left them loveless and longing for more.
The legend, Yash Chopra, passes away leaving behind a void that can never be filled in Indian cinema. As the filmmaker bid farewell to the world of cinema Bollywood fell silent in shock and grief.
"I am very stunned and sad. His films were simple, but he made every scene including fight scenes watchable. His films were out of the world. He was always present in every recording and he would be there all the time. I will miss him. He was like a brother to m," expressed singer Lata Mangeshkar.
The entire film fraternity expressed their sorrow to this colossal loss. They took to Twitter to pay their condolences to the legendary filmmaker.
Dilip Kumar: Shattering, hard to accept. Yash was more than a friend, a brother. I am numb and have no words to express my grief.
Asha Bhosle: Just as I was getting over the grief of my daughter, my brother Yash Chopra Bhaisaab has left me. Sad year.
