Published

ATP players Malek Jaziri and Marcos Baghdatis spent the afternoon at the Emirates Aviation College yesterday and experienced piloting the Airbus A380 - the world’s largest passenger aircraft. The players were on board the simulator in the state of-the-art training centre located in Garhoud. Jaziri and Baghdatis were instructed by Captain Patrick De Roeck of Emirates Airline and selected a range of different flight paths from across the world taking off and landing in Dubai.

Jaziri is on Centre Court against top seed and world number one Novak Djokovic this evening and Baghdatis defeated Vasek Pospisil on court 1 earlier today.

Behind the scenes with Tomas Berdych

Tomas Berdych, ATP world number seven took us on a journey behind the scenes at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and showed us what it's like to be a player competing in the Tournament.

From the practice courts, to the gym facilities to the Players' Lounge, it’s easy to see why the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships has been voted ATP Tournament of the Year  by the players eleven times and as recently as 2014.

Berdych spent some time relaxing in the VIP Lounge overlooking Centre Court ahead of his quest for the title.

Daredevil Wawrinka zipping through

ATP world number four Stan Wawrinka took the ride of his life at the popular Dubai's XLine yesterday ahead of his first match in the Dubai Duty Free Championships on Tuesday.

The tournament's second seed, Wawrinka leaped 90 metres off the W1 Tower in Downtown Dubai and flew 558 metres over the Dubai Fountains, taking in the views of the iconic Burj Khalifa and Downtown area.

The Swiss 30-year old and two-time Grand Slam winner has become one of the giants of the game and will make a bid this week to end the near-monopoly that Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have held on the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships trophy for more than a decade.

Feliciano Lopez takes a spin in Dubai Police Car

Spanish tennis star Feliciano Lopez took a spin in the Dubai Police Audi R8 ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Lopez, the tournament's sixth seed, was greeted by Major Essa Al Ahli, Abdulla Sultan S Al Mutawa, Ahmed Al Haddad and Ali Yousif Ahmed Albanny and two Dubai policewomen before taking a cruise in one of the most powerful cars in the Dubai Police fleet.

Lopez will kick off his quest for the title today (Feb 22) when he meets Guillermo Garcia-Lopez on Centre Court at 4pm.

Tantrum Alley for Novak Djokovic at Dubai's Wild Wadi

World number one and four time Dubai champion Novak Djokovic took some time out from the practice courts ahead of the ATP week at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships to spend the afternoon at Dubai's Wild Wadi waterpark.

Djokovic, his brother Marko and his friends enjoyed  some underwater fun and many of the water rides at the park including Tantrum Alley and Burj Surj.

Earlier, Djokovic visited Bab Al Yam restaurant at Burj Al Arab and was greeted by Chef Maxime Luvara who helped Djokovic create his very own juice.

The action-packed ATP tournament begins on Monday February 22  and the current Australian Open, US Open and Wimbledon champion Djokovic is a firm favourite for the title this year.
