Salman Khan is in the spotlight once again as a group of pro-Tamil activists staged a protest outside the Bollywood actor’s Mumbai home on Sunday.

The actor drew flak from certain groups after he publicly supported Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa during a political campaign on the island nation.

Khan, along with actor Jacqueline Fernandez, were in Sri Lanka last month after accepting an invite by Namal Rajapaksa, the president’s son.

‘Down with Salman Khan’ were written on banners, as protestors rallied around the actor’s home in Bandra, resulting in a minor tussle that saw 10-15 protestors arrested, as per media reports.

Protestors are upset with the actor, accusing him of siding with the Sri Lankan Army and the country’s president, both of which are being accused for killing Tamilians during the island’s civil war that lasted 26 years.

Meanwhile, in India, political parties such as the DMK and the MDMK are also critical of the actor’s stance, arguing that Indian fishermen were attacked by Sri Lankan Navy last year.
