Sheen doing' fine'... even after $30k cheque

Beleaguered television actor Charlie Sheen, who has texted that he is "fine" after a 36-hour bender landed him in hospital last week, wrote a cheque of $30,000 to an adult film actress during the party, reports say.

Celebrity website TMZ.com published the cheque, apparently written by the actor as an attempt to get the star to join the "porn family" he wants to create. 

As the story goes, Sheen broke out his checkbook during a conversation with the star on Wednesday, and then told the actress to take it to the bank... and the money was hers.

The actress immediately presented the cheque at the bank in question, where the teller called the Sheen and one of his associates for verification purposes -- both okayed the transaction.

The actor has been reported as spending money like water during the binge, including offering to rent a neighbouring mansion for $1 million and ordering in a briefcase full of cocaine. Several porn actresses have also been reported or admitted to being at the party.

Meanwhile, he texted radaronline.com that he was doing all right in rehab. "I'm fine," he said, but seemed upset that his hit show, "Two and A Half Men", has been put on hold, as he followed up his first statement with another text, "People don't seem to get it...Guy can't have a great time and do his job also?" His text ended with: “Bunch of turds,” a comment that has been seen as aimed at the media.
