The famous Bollywood siblings: Karisma, Kareena; Salman, Arbaaz

It’s all about being in the right family!

The glamour world of Bollywood is known for legendary tales of acting blood lines and filmy family backgrounds.

The tinsel town has its fair share of siblings who have appeared in the movie industry and won the hearts of the audience.

Let us see some popular siblings of the Hindi movie industry that caught our attention by fire.

Here is a look at some popular siblings in the tinsel town:

Karishma and Kareena Kapoor:

The elder sister Karishma Kapoor rebelled against the family values of the Kapoor clan and started her acting career with the movie. Kareena followed her elder sister. Karishma took a break after her marriage and tried to make a come-back in 2012. Kareena continues to dominate the tinsel town and is one of the top most.

Salman Khan, Arbaaz and Shoaib Khan:

Salman Khan entered the film industry way back in 1988, with the film ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’. The actor tasted phenomenal success with the film, ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ in the year 1989. It is still considered to be a landmark in the Hindi romantic movie genre. As Salman established himself in the industry, he introduced his two younger brothers Arbaaz and Sohail Khan to the tinsel town and established them. They are undoubtedly the most famous siblings of Bollywood.

Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee:

With a mother like Tanuja and a brilliant actress sister like Kajol, Tanisha seemed to be a promising young star. She gave great interviews before her launch and seemed to follow in her sister's opinionated footsteps. Unfortunately, her films, including Sssshhh and Neal n Nikki didn't do much for her career. Her acting is nothing much to speak about and she is definitely out of the audience's mind. Luckily for her, being Kajol's sister has helped. Tanisha has two releases lined up in 2008 so let's hope this time things work out for this little sister.

Aamir and Faisal Khan:

Faisal is a flop sibling brother of the impeccable Aamir Khan. He was last seen in the movie Mela   with brother Aamir. Nothing of him was seen after that till a legal squabble between the two made mainstream headlines. Aamir and his father Tahir Hussain were caught in a custody battle over an allegedly unstable Faisal that went in favour of the father. The story seemed over then. But Faisal recently made an appearance at a music release and it is heard he went around telling the media that he has plans to come back to films. Rest assured, it's not going to be a close watch till then.

Saif Ali Khan and Soha:

It took time for Saif Ali Khan to make his mark in Bollywood. Today, he is easily one of Bollywood's hottest stars. Sister Soha Ali Khan seems to be following in his footsteps. She is taking on few roles as a starter, but they are meaty roles that offer scope for an actor to showcase her talent - like 'Rang De Basanti' and 'Khoya Khoya Chand'.

Farhan and Zoya Akhtar:

Director sibling duo Farhan Akhtar and sister Zoya Akhtar are names people associate with quality work in the industry. They are doing dissimilar work, but Zoya is equally known for her filmmaking skills. Farhan knows the pulse of the younger generation and makes films to their taste. Zoya is not making mainstream Bollywood films. She directed films like 'Lucky By Chance' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' that starred brother Farhan himself. As a woman director, with a different vision, she is a talent to reckon with.

Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar:

Out of Jeetendra's two kids, it's easy to tell who the dominating one is and who the wimp. Elder sister Ekta Kapoor, the Queen of Soaps, calls the shots. And little brother Tusshar has to star in the flicks she decides for him. Even with her help, Tusshar's career has not been able to take off. He's often seen at her parties trying to get into the spotlight. Tsk! Tsk! We have no clue how he's gonna shell out for Ekta's gift.

Farah and Sajid Khan:

This sibling pair have been successful by starting small and making it really, really big. Farah Khan is India's best-known choreographer and Sajid Khan is Indian Television's best-known comic host. Both have now turned hugely successful directors. Farah's 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om' have been box office successes not only in India, but also across the globe. And Sajid's directorial ventures have also been fruitful so far.

Aditya and Uday Chopra:

Giving hits after hits under the Yash Raj Films banner and guided by father late Yash Chopra, Aaditya is one of the ace filmmakers of Bollywood. Younger brother Uday Chopra assisted Aaditya and father in many films. But when he was elevated to the position of a hero he failed. Despite coming from such a strong background Aditya’s brother Uday Chopra could not charm his audience. The film which gave him some recognition was ‘Dhoom’ and its sequel. But 'Dhoom' is a multi-starrer movie with big star cast and Uday can never be given completely credit for its success.
