One of the most anticipated films of the year is all set to hit the marquee this Valentine weekend, with Dubai rolling out the red carpet for the world premiere of 'Roy'.
Having their turn in the spotlight will be the thriller's lead stars, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez, who will be joined by film director, Vikramjit Singh.
However, as per organisers Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events, Ranbir Kapoor – who plays an extended cameo in the film and the title role – will not be attending the grand premiere that will be held on
February 11 at Novo Cinemas, Wafi.
The stars are expected to walk the red carpet at 9.30pm, followed by an appearance at Armani hotspot, Prive, at midnight.
Rampal and Fernandez will also attend the launch of Indya Estates' latest project, Skyview Bangalore, at 6pm, which will be held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
Both the events are invite only.
Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar and Freeway Pictures, 'Roy' sees Rampal play filmmaker, Kabir Grewal, who has made a name for himself in the arc lights thanks to a nifty thief, Roy (Ranbir Kapoor).
Things come to head when Ayesha (Jacqueline Fernandez), another filmmaker, signs on as Kabir's new girlfriend, but may also share a shady past with the elusive Roy.
The actress reportedly plays a dual role in the film.
The premise of the mystery sets the stage for what the makers are calling, 'a gripping thriller'.
'Roy' goes on general release on February 12 across UAE cinemas.
