Engaged George Clooney, fiancée Amal try to escape the cameras

The 'Monuments Men' star George Clooney, who has been dating Amal Alamuddin since last October, popped the question to his beau last month with a seven-carat ring he designed himself after dinner at his Los Angeles home.

After the media curiosity and hounding paparazzi, the couple is off for a vacation trying to escape the buzz surrounding their engagement.

E Online reports that the future Mr. and Mrs. Clooney were photographed together Wednesday night in Cabo San Lucas.

The couple had a romantic dinner followed by an evening of fun with a group of around nine friends at downtown hot spot Harbard.

The pair were holding hands throughout the night and laughing at one another, and, as one eyewitness puts it, "You can tell these two are in love."

The lovebirds have been staying at George's house in El Dorado—the same vacation home where they spent the holidays last year with pals Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford.

George, 52, and Amal, 36, are now planning to marry later this summer.

The source said: "It's only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work."

One image shows Amal snuggling up to George as he protectively places an arm around her shoulders, while another depicts the happy couple smiling as they pose with a group of locals.
