Oscar Leak: Website reveals first nominee by mistake

It’s less than one week before the nominations are officially revealed for the Academy Awards and a website glitch has leaked some coveted information: 'Django Unchained’s' costume designer Sharen Davis is one of the lucky nominees!

A test page at Oscars.com has revealed that 'Django Unchained' costume designer Sharen Davis seems to have gotten a nomination for an Academy Award.

While the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences doesn’t go public with nominees for this year’s Oscars until next week, its website appears to have leaked the name of one on a test page, the New York Daily News reported.

Vanity Fair magazine noticed that someone at Oscars.com accidentally posted a test page on the site revealing that Davis was on the shortlist for a coveted golden statue.

“This is the third Academy Award nomination for Sharen Davis. She was previously nominated for Dreamgirls (2006) and Ray (2004),” the premature text on the test page read.

After the magazine pointed out the mistake, the Academy quickly moved to scrub the website of any mention of Davis or Quentin.

Vanity Fair got first dibs on the interview with Davis and in her excitement she tells them, “Oh my gosh! I haven’t even lost weight! I never thought about an Oscar in my life. When they called me for Ray, I thought it was a prank call. I said, ‘Am I going to open the door and see one of those fake, standing Oscars?’”
