"We had taken the game too lightly last time but this time we are all prepared. The boys have practised well and hope to do well," said Salman Khan.

Indeed this first match for the team was not as bad as last season. They were off colour on field with dismal fielding performance but the batsman held their nerves. They took their team closer to victory.

"It was an off day in the field today but we hope to improve," said Sohail Khan owner of Mumbai Heroes.

The Mumbai Heroes also lost an early wicket when they came down to bat. But a solid 104 partnership between Varun Badola and Raja Bherwani saw them sailing through.

At the end of 20 overs, Mumbai Heroes needed to make 168 runs but could only manage 167. The game ultimately ended in a tie. The points were shared 1-1 by both teams.  The crowd couldn’t have asked for more.

A nailing biting Salman Khan was also visibly tensed. The crowd was also at the edge of their seats throughout the match.

The second match to be played in Sharjah is between Chennai Rhinos and Mumbai Heroes on 14th January.
