'Balika Vadhu's' Pratyusha returns to TV serial in new role

As 'Anandi' of Balika Vadhu, Pratyusha Banerjee impressed fans enough to spark an online craze for her to come back.

After essaying the role of a simple village girl, she will be seen in a different avatar on Star Plus now.

Speaking to Emirates24|7 about her future on television she says, "I have signed a contract with another daily soap which will soon be aired on Star Plus. I will begin shooting from April. But I do not know when it will be launched."

However, this role will be far different from the reserved, conservative girl she played as Anandi.

Pratyusha continued, "Whenever I come it will be quite different from Anandi, it will be more of a modern who has a lot of dignity and values."

Fans of the show have been extremely disappointed with her decision of leaving BV and there has been an out pour of messages requesting the producers to bring her back.

When asked about returning to 'Balika Vadhu' as Anandi, she said, "I have not thought about it yet, maybe not right now. Although I love the character I don't think it is possible."

"I believe in doing one project at a time. Take one and do it well," she said.

After quitting BV, there was a wide spread speculation that Pratyusha has signed a film with Vikram Bhatt but the actor has rejected the offer.

"Vikram Bhatt had offered me a role in his forthcoming movie but I had to turn it down as I wanted to spend more time with mum who recently had an operation. But now I have decided to continue doing roles on TV,” she said.

But Pratyusha's and should be happy now as they will soon get to see her on the small screen may be not as 'Anandi' but as she says in "something bigger and better".
