Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will undergo surgery next month for his knee injury, doctor said.

The King Khan, who has been of late busy with the shooting of his film Ra.One and action thriller Don: The Chase Continues, hurt his leg after it got stuck in a puddle last month during a film shooting.

While working in films, injury-prone Khan first suffered a hairline fracture on his knee cap that he sustained while shooting for film ‘Koyla’ in 1990s. In the past five years, he tore a shoulder muscle, suffered a back injury and has undergone surgery too.

"He has been going through a lot of discomfort for sometime. And hence the doctor was called in. He has a tear in the meniscus of his left knee," Times of India reported quoting sources. Khan has not looked comfortable at public functions over the last few weeks due to nagging injury.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh recently met Dr Ali Irani to check his knee. Irani confirmed to Times that King Khan will undergo surgery in July. "Yes he does have a knee problem and he will need to undergo surgery in July," Dr Ali Irani said.
