SRK gets away with attack on friend's husband

'Agneepath’s' success party at the Box office, turned out to be a battle ground of sorts.

The bash thrown at a popular suburban night club in Mumbai by Sanjay Dutt was well attended with the who's who of Bollywood, including the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn.

But the celebratory mood soon turned ugly following an altercation between Shah Rukh Khan and 'once-upon-a-time' good friend Farah Khan's husband, filmmaker Shirish Kunder.

Shah Rukh has taken his new avataar as an action hero little too seriously. But the charmer that he is fans speculate that there could have been provocation from the other side that irked ‘bad’shah Khan.

Much to everyone’s surprise, filmmaker Shirish Kunder has stated that he will not be taking the matter of his alleged scuffle with Shah Rukh Khan to the police.

He posted a message on Twitter, saying, “Thanks for all your concern & wishes. We are very grateful. Contrary to rumours, we have no intention of filing a FIR or police complaint.”

The punch and slap story was all speculation untill wife Farah Khan spilled the beans to Indian media outlet, Headlines Today, saying: “Shirish, my husband, was beaten up by Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards in Sanjay Dutt’s party.

“Shah Rukh asked Shirish why he had tweeted against him... There was no provocation from our side. He had screamed at Shirish telling him that he would destroy me as well.”

Back in October, Kunder had tweeted about Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Ra.One', saying: “I just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle,” referring to 'Ra.One which rumoured to have a budget of Rs1.5 billion.

Farah Khan also texted reporters according to Hindustan Times, saying: “Shahrukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same (sic).”

It is being said that Sanjay Dutt had to intervene and finally escorted Shah Rukh out.

Some B-towners like Ameesha Patel and photographer Dabboo Ratnani, are taking SRK’s side.

Shah Rukh hasn’t issued any official statement in this regard but tweeted: "Another long nite. Shooting for a public service msg film about education peace & harmony. Feels ironic when I read & see wot is being said."

Kunder not filing an FIR leads fans to believe that there might be some reason why he got slapped. If he was as innocent as he has claimed in his interview to a tabloid, why would he not take legal action?

Twitter erupts with jokes

After real fight sequence between the actor and director at Sanjay Dutt's bash, the Twitter world erupted, with jokes on the 'Joker' director. It wasn’t long before, both Farah Khan and Shrish Kunder were trending on the microblogging site. Here're the jokes.

@MTVIndia: Dear Shirish Kunder, Kha.One Regards, Shah Rukh Khan.

@fayesalins: Shahrukh should be scared. Farah Khan looks like she can slap really hard!

@Varun_G_10: Shouldn't SRK trend as well! After all he made the effort to slap Shirish Kunder i.e., Farah Khan's wife oops i means husband ;)

@GulabiAakhien_ I've always felt that Farah Khan was the man in their relationship. Husband slapped, wife registers case.

@chin80: Shirish Kunder was bored of the tag "Farah Khan's husband". So he allowed SRK to slap him. New tag: "The guy who was slapped by SRK"

@CilemaSnob: After two back to back duds, Shirish Kunder finally has a Hit. Congrats. You have arrived! But most didn’t seem to care about the drama, preferring to use this moment to throw in some tongue‘n’cheek comments, with MTV India leading the way.

The music and entertainment channel tweeted: “Dear Shirish Kunder, Kha.One [eat one: a play on SRK’s film, “Ra.One”] Regards, Shah Rukh Khan.”

Another tweet followed by the channel, saying: “Shah Rukh Khan finally has the biggest 'hit' of 2012 thanks to Shirish Kunder. #Tamacha [slap].”

Bollywood G tweeted: “So many people are happy that @iamsrk slapped @ShirishKunder. It's wrong. We should never condone violence against women.”

Looks like the Farah-Shah Rukh war will rule in 2012.
