Former South Africa cricket captain Graeme Smith and his wife of three-and-a-half years, Irish singer Morgan Deane, have reportedly decided to end their marriage.

The couple were married three years ago and have two children – a daughter, Cadence Christine Smith, who was born on July 25, 2012 and Carter McMorrin Smith, who was born on July 15, 2013.

The couple's lawyer, David Becker, has confirmed that the couple are divorcing.

Becker was quoted by South Africa's TimesLive website last Wednesday that Graeme and Morgan are unfortunately divorcing. He also urged everyone to respect the couple's privacy during this time, both for the sake of themselves and their children.

The website also quoted a friend saying that it was Deane who decided to end their marriage.

Smith tied the knot with Deane here in August 2011.

The 34-year-old played 117 Test matches for South Africa before retiring in 2014.
