IPL 6: SRK brings in Deepika to replace JLo... and Pitbull

Published

In cricketing terms nothing is really bigger than the Indian Premier League at the moment.
Not the Ashes. Not even a tour of Australia. India vs Pakistan? Hmmm… Maybe.

But certainly not Jennifer Lopez.

According to the Daily Mail, J Lo has been dropped from performing at the IPL 6 opening ceremony after she allegedly made some outrageous demans, including her own plane.
According to the report, her manager Benny Medina reportedly asked for a private plane and hotel rooms for her extensive entourage, including stylists and a personal chef.

The IPL tea, dropped JLo faster than an out-of-form Virender Sehwag.
Quickly putting the pieces together, the Indian media then reported that Pit Bull (who has collaborated with JLo on several tracks) is now in and in terms of the female glamour quotient,  have picked Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.

Shah Rukh Khan, who owns the Kolkata Knight Riders team, has his company Red Chillies Entertainment organising the event and the India media claim he has roped in Deepika to perform at the opening ceremony of IPL 6 at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium on April 2.

Besides Deepika Katrina Kaif will also perform, and of course, SRK himself.
The western press meanwhile have questioned JLo’s wisdom in dropping out of a performance that has a viewership to rival the Super Bowl halftime show.

Last year Katy Perry performed and it was watched by 56million people.

This year 60 million people were expected to tune in for the IPL extravaganza.

A J-Lo representative denied she was dropped by IPL organisers and said she is not performing at the ceremony on Tuesday because she is too busy.
