Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are 'still friendly'

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are still "very friendly", but think a relationship is "too much to take on".

The on-off couple recently called time on their romance once again after rekindling last year when Selena broke off her relationship with The Weeknd, and although sources claim the pair still have love for one another, they're staying separated as neither of them want a "serious" romance.

A source said: "They were at church last night, they didn't arrive or leave together, but they were very friendly and civil. They're still very close. It's not awkward between them at all.

"He loves her so much, but they both know a serious relationship right now is just too much to take on. It's been a weird few weeks for Selena. She's tired of taking on other people's dramas and just wants to continue focusing on herself and going to church is a big part of that. She knows the paps will be there and make a whole thing of her and Justin having a 'run-in,' but it's not like that, they're fine."

The 24-year-old 'Sorry' hitmaker and the former Disney star have had a "volatile" relationship in the past, and sources say that whilst they're "fine" with one another, it is their friends who are expecting things to take a turn.

The insider added to 'Entertainment Tonight': "Honestly, it's their friends who don't really know how to handle the whole situation. Everyone's always guessing, 'Are they or aren't they [together]?' They've had a very volatile relationship in the past, so everyone is bracing themselves for it to turn south again, but so far it's been fine."

Justin and Selena, 25, put their romance on hold last month after it was claimed pressure from the 'Bad Liar' singer's mother Mandy Teefey was causing a strain on their relationship.

A source said at the time: "Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena's mom and her disapproval of Justin. Justin's family loves Selena, but Selena's family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don't trust Justin.

"Selena has tried to convince her family that Justin has changed ... but her family just isn't budging right now."
