It was glitterati galore at the Gr8! Women awards night at the Joharah Ballroom, Madinat Jumeirah.
Women leaders across various fields were recognized for their stellar achievements and honored for their contribution to the society.
The event, instituted by the Indian Television Academy, pay homage to extraordinary ladies who have excelled in the fields of arts, commerce, sports, science and entrepreneurship.
Stars who walked the red carpet included Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe, Bollywood stars Rani Mukherjee, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Malaika Arora Khan, Mugdha Godse who rubbed shoulders with real-life heroes.
The gala event was replete with a Bollywood dance and song spectacle from an array of actors including Urmila Matondkar, Gauhar Khan and singer Ash King making the experience that much more spectacular.
Urmila Matondkar gyrated to a medley of few old and new Bollywood hits numbers.
Constellation of top artists from the Indian film industry graced the occasion. Movers and shakers from business and fashion fraternity in the Arab world also marked their presence.
Reel-life actor Malaika Arora Khan receives an award for her contribution to Indian cinema. Yester year glamour girl Padmini Kolahpuri was amongst other Bollywood divas who got felicitated at the awards ceremony. The awards also celebrated the 100 years of Indian cinema.
Women leaders in the Middle East were acknowledged for contributions to their chosen professions. Women from Yemen, Qatar, the UAE and six other regional countries accepted their recognition.
Notable winners such as Dubai’s intrepid explorer Suzanne Al Houby, sultry singer Haifa Wehbe from Lebanon and Palestine’s Bashaer Othman, were just a few to look resplendent as they beamed with their golden statues.
Other celebritites included Arjan Bajwa, who shot to fame with 'Fashion', Zarine Khan, who was last seen in 'Housefull 2', looks beautiful in a pink gown. Husband and wife TV stars Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh also complemented the evening with stunning performances.
The event was co-hosted Rohit Roy and Rahaf Atlawil.
