First, it was the scandalous MMS clip of Mona Singh that did the rounds, now there are talks about how her daily soap will be taken off air.

Industry insiders claim 'Kya Hua Tera Vaada' (KHTV) is suffering low ratings.

However, the lead pair Mona and Hiten Tejwani told Hindustan Times claimed that they were yet to receive any intimidation from the production house Balaji Telefilms.

They admitted to hearing rumours about the show’s “end”.

The production head Ekta Kapoor, however, set the record straight.

"Yes, it (taking the show off air) was decided long ago.”

The show, which was launched in January 2012, focused on the struggles of an Indian middle-class family.

It had taken a 10-year leap and shifted focus on the challenges of a single mother.

The show had hoped to piggyback on the success of Mona Singh, who turned into a star post 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi' in 2003.

But it failed to click with the audience because of a dull romantic plot.

KHTV will air its last episode end of May. It will be replaced by a new series on Indian warrior Maharana Pratap.
