A new shocking video exposes the dark side of the squeaky clean boy band image of One Direction.

The video, obtained by Daily Mail, show singers Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson sharing a roll up cigarette as they joke about drugs en route to their concert in Peru last month has emerged online.

Setting the scene, Louis Tomlinson, 22, explains: ‘So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!’

The boys are in the back on an SUV headed for their concert at the Estadio Nacional stadium in Lima where they performed in front of a 40,000 strong crowd on April 27.

‘What do you think about that kind of content?’ he asks bandmate Zayn, 21, after he takes a puff.

During the 15-minute video Louis also pokes fun at a suspicious-looking police motorcyclist tailing their vehicle.

‘One nil *****! Look at this *****! He’s having a look. He’s thinking, “I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.” And he’s hit the nail on the head.’

‘How is it Zayn?’ Louis asks.  ‘Nice,’ Zayn replies.

Other band members Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan, all 20, are nowhere to be seen in the video.

The clip could cause serious harm the band's squeaky-clean image, and will no doubt upset the parents of many of their younger fans.

The band has just returned from South America and is due to play the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, UK, this evening, before touring the UK and Europe.

They are then scheduled to head back over the Atlantic to Canada and North America in August, although with allegations of illegal drug taking, they could be banned from entering.

According to Peruvian law, possession of marijuana is not punishable if used for personal and immediate consumption in quantities not exceeding eight grams.
