Open audition in Dubai for UAE resident to act in a Bollywood movie

The recently announced UAE based Bollywood production ‘Dollars’ has organized an open casting for its nine roles and characters on April 5, 2013 at the Light House Studios in Al Quoz, Dubai.

The producers have received in excess of 3000 portfolios and applications from UAE residents since their online announcement of the casting, from which 280 applicants have been shortlisted.

The first round of auditions will run from 10am to 12pm and is open to all, where applicants are being invited to perform their own improvisations or enact a scene from their favorite movies.

Candidates selected from the first round will be combined with the shortlisted 280 for the screen test in second round, which will run from 2pm to 5pm.

“We are looking for nine (9) main and several supplementary characters of various nationalities which is reflective of the UAE landscape. And since the story is based in the UAE, actors selected from within the resident pool will add to the believability factor of the characters and result in a more authentic end product,” said Sameer Khan the film’s Director.

The film that is set to hit the floors by May 2013 is a tale of two friends who arrive in Dubai to work and their fast paced action adventure thereof.

‘Dollars’ is a UAE based production and will be majorly shot in the UAE with some parts in India.

‘Dollars’ which is being produced by Times Square Entertainment & Ashwini Sehdev, features music by Sajid-Wajid, the multi award-winning duo who picked up Filmfare awards for Best Music Director for 'Partner' & 'Dabangg' and delivered chart busting music this year for 'Housefull 2', 'Rowdy Rathore', ‘Dabangg 2’, and choreography by Mudassar Khan of 'Ready', 'Bodyguard', 'Dabangg' fame.

Vikram Chopra is the film’s associate producer and Neelesh Mishra, who has the record breaking ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to his credit, has rendered the script and screenplay.
