Jennifer Lawrence led the way for light colours on this year's Oscars red carpet.

The 22-year-old beauty - who took home the Best Actress prize for her role in 'Silver Linings Playbook' - looked stunning in a blush strapless Dior Haute Couture gown, which highlighted her slim waist and was complemented by a simple up-do.

And Jennifer - who tripped up the stairs as she went to collect her award at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre - wasn't the only star who opted for a pale hue.

Best Supporting Actress winner Anne Hathaway made a statement in a baby pink Prada dress, which she teamed with Tiffany & Co jewels while Jessica Chastain looked amazing in her nude sequinned Armani Prive nude gown.

Amy Adams opted for an Oscar de la Renta powder blue princess dress and Charlize Theron looked her usual stylish self in a tailored white Dior dress.

Amanda Seyfried and Kristen Stewart also went for a light colour and Catherine Zeta-Jones sparkled in gold.

But it wasn't just the light dresses that stole the show.

Dark metallics also played a big part with Salma Hayek, Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock all opting for black dresses with glitzy detailing.

Jennifer Aniston looked radiant in a red strapless Valentino gown while Jennifer Garner - whose husband Ben Affleck won Best Picture for his film 'Argo' - showed off her own style credentials in a bandeau purple Gucci number.
