Yas Marina Circuit and FLASH Entertainment today jointly revealed two of the four international headline artists for this year’s Yasalam After-Race Concerts, which will take place at du Arena, Yas Island, at the 2017 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Kicking off four days of celebrations, on Thursday, 23rd November, the internationally-renowned DJ Calvin Harris will return to the capital and ignite the 2017 Yasalam After-Race Concert series of high energy and world class musical talent.
Also a Grammy Award-winning record producer and songwriter, Calvin Harris stands as the figurehead for modern dance music, having broken world records and dominated global music charts. He became the first British solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify and currently has over 5 billion streams across all major streaming services and 11 consecutive platinum singles.
Harris is also set to have the album of the summer for this year with the recent release of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, featuring the monster hit, "Feels", his Katy Perry and Big Sean collaboration.
Topping off the party on Sunday, 26th November, Pink, regarded as one of the best-selling female pop icons is lined up to close off the race weekend.
Redefining the title ‘rockstar’, Pink has remained a household name with her floor-bouncing pop and chart-rocking singles, including "Get the Party Started", "So What" and "Try". Since her debut in 2000, the 37-year-old singer has set a new standard in the industry with seven smash records and 15 singles in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Especially known for her live theatrics and mesmerising stage presence, After-Race audiences are set for a concert experience unlike any other.
The announcement was made today at a special media event at Virgin Megastore, Yas Mall, with Arabian Radio Network’s Virgin Radio broadcasting live on air across the UAE from the flagship store.
During the event, organisers also revealed an extra bonus for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders, where fans now have the option to upgrade their race weekend by purchasing ‘Golden Circle’ tickets for the Yasalam After-Race Concerts. Offering the best access to the star-studded concerts, the upgrade packages are available to buy now.
Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, said, "We’re excited to make our first artist reveal for this year’s Yasalam After-Race Concerts. Every year, we aim to give ticket holders bigger and better value by providing four days of new and exciting on and off-track entertainment. We look forward to making further announcements about our After-Race line-up soon. And with the introduction of Golden Circle tickets available for purchase, best access goes to those fans who value it the most."
John Lickrish, CEO of FLASH Entertainment, added, "Yasalam brought exceptional entertainment to Abu Dhabi over the last eight years and this edition promises to be equally impressive. Featuring an unmissable line up of world-class entertainment and community activities, Yasalam 2017 will bring the race energy from the track directly to the festival, with an even stronger focus on its #AbuDhabiGP home, Yas Island. This year, we’re also putting After-Race audiences in the driver’s seat by offering Golden Circle upgrades for race ticket holders, letting them get up close with their favourite artists".
The four-day Yasalam After-Race Concerts line-up is part of the city-wide Yasalam festival. Now in its ninth year, #Yasalam2017 forms a programme that unites Abu Dhabi in excitement and celebration and is one of the most highly anticipated and globally renowned festivals run by any race host city in the world.
As always, the only way to enjoy the four Yasalam After-Race Concert performances will be to purchase a ticket for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
