While Bollywood is thriving as one of the best industries in the global film fraternity, item numbers play a pivotal role in the success of the B-town movies and actress' career.
Recently some of the item songs like Katrina Kaif’s “Sheila ki jawani”, “Chikni Chameli”, Deepika Padukone’s “Dum maaro dum” and Kareena Kapoor’s “Chammak challo”, "Halkat Jawani" and "Fevicol Se" became chartbusters.
All these songs did wonders to their career, asks Katrina to believe it.
And now we have another top notch actress joining the item girl brigade - Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka who has proven her acting prowess recently with the blockbuster 'Barfi!' will now showcase her dancing ability.
Though she has been in the industry for almost a decade, Priyanka will be seen doing an item song for the first time in her career.
The 30-year old actor will be seen showing off her dancing prowess in the song titled 'Babli Badmaash Hai' for filmmaker Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming gangster flick 'Shootout at Wadala'.
Gupta has been chasing Priyanka for the past six months before she finally gave her nod. She was shown some parts of the movie to be convinced. The shooting of the song will be shot in the next 3-4 days in Mumbai.
The song which is being composed by Anu Malik, apparently has a 70s club vibe to it.
Priyanka was very critical and specific about the lyrics of the song and pointed out that she is not willing to do an insensitive and double meaning song. She has agreed to do the song with the caveat that the lyrics won’t be objectionable.
The song will be Gupta’s ode to two yesteryears Bollywood legends Feroz Khan and RD Burman.
Bollywood's style diva Kareena Kapoor who recently won hearts with her performance in "Fevicol se" in 'Dabangg 2' and "Halkat Jawani" in 'Heroine' is all set to return!
According to reports, Kareena Kapoor is set to dance in 4 item numbers in her upcoming film. The film titled as 'Gori Tera Gaon' has Imran Khan as the lead actor.
Interestingly Kareena had recently refused to do bold scenes after marriage. And now she is returning as an item queen!
